Have you taken the time to truly look into someone's eyes? The "heart" of the soul lies there.When I look into the eyes of my youngest son, I see such a twinkle...it can only be the Light of Jesus. That sparkle gives me renewed hope and joy. My heart smiles.
Looking...REALLY looking...into the "heart" of the soul in someones eyes will show you so much. We will see despair, anguish, weariness, joy, peace, and so much more. When we take the time to listen, it causes us to take the time to focus on the eyes. So often, the true "heart" of the soul is over-looked.
Compassion will give us the drive to truly see the "heart" of the soul. "Therefore as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved,clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness,humility gentleness,and patience." (Col. 3:12 NIV) When we strive to live that verse, we WILL be taking the time to notice...REALLY notice...the "heart" of the soul in the eyes of others; therefore we will be demonstrating the eyes of Christ.
