~Psalm 51:1-12 (NIV)~with added

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions....I haven't been living up to what a follower of you is to be this past week...

Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin....Lord, forgive me for my un-Christlike thoughts...letting my mind be focused on things I know don't please You...forgive me for the gossip...the jealousy...my anger...and my bitterness...

For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me....those sins are difficult for me to forget and let go of...

Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge....
Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me....from the time I was born, doing right has been a struggle...because I so often want to do things that I know don't please you....

Surely you desire truth in the inner parts you teach me wisdom in the inmost place. 7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow....my heart, mind, and soul know Your truth, Lord...I have studied your Word...let me start fresh in You...

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me....I so long to be holy and "whole"y Yours!
Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Let me encourage you to make this the prayer of your heart...daily. Post this, passages from it, or the entire Psalm 51 as a reminder to live a life that would give honor to our Savior, Jesus Christ!
